I spent the night in the centre of the town of Villefranche sur Saone in a Kyriad. After I could not find the hotel’s own car park, I parked my car in one of the side streets. As it turned out later at the hotel, this was not a bad idea either, because the parking space in the underground car park would have made a lot of money. As you don’t have to pay any parking fees in Villefranche from eight o’clock in the evening and all day on Sundays, the parking space in the city centre is a real alternative.
The room itself was rather small, so I somehow expected more from this brand of the Louvre Hotel Group. But at least it was relatively cheap and Villefranche sur Saone itself looks like a nice town in the suburbs of Lyon. Slept in and relaxed, I was able to go on to the next stage. After 150 km I reached the next destination in the middle of nowhere in about 2 hours driving time.
