The Tour
I had wanted to take a road trip through the American Midwest for quite some time. After spending several months in good old, but rather boring Greifswald, overseeing the production of components for a major Universal roller coaster project, this felt like a very well-earned vacation. Cedar Point, Six Flags Great America, and Indiana Beach had all been on my bucket list for years, so it did not take long for the route to come together.
The journey began in Chicago. From there, I headed through Indiana into Missouri, then continued across Iowa and Minnesota to Wisconsin. After returning to Chicago, the final part of the trip took me through Ohio and Michigan.
I had never visited any of the parks on this route before, so there was a lot I was looking forward to seeing and riding for the first time. Along the way, there were also several large water parks and plenty of smaller stops between the main destinations.
