I can understand if you don’t run your luge due to the wetness of your track. I can also understand, that you don’t open anything where somebody might hurt himself due to the slippery underground and may even fall to the ground on your awesome looking Skywalk viewing platform. But Wiegand, why did you not operate your small suspended coaster Hexenbesen? It was the only reason why I had to stop at the Erlebnisfelsen Pottenstein on my way back from Munich to Hamburg and you did not operate it even though your website stated other things.

Don’t get me wrong. The route via Pottenstein is just gorgeous and I needed a break of all those road works anyways. It was interesting to see your new facilities, but it would have been nicer if I could use the bought ticket on more than just one of your rides. The Frankenbob is a beautiful looking Alpine Coaster, but unluckily it is also a rather tame one. The Frankenrodel on the other hand is just a nice luge and your Hexenbesen at least looks great and interesting. I’m pretty sure your expansion of the Rodelmekka Pottenstein was the right choice. I just can’t see it, if you don’t operate your rides at the Erlebnisfelsen Pottenstein in the late afternoon on a quiet Monday.

When my friend William figured out that Berlin is showing the Blue Man Group, he just wanted to have a trip to the German capital city. As a theatre fan myself, I could not say anything against a visit. Thankfully, Stage had a good offer at the time and I insteadly bought two tickets. Unfurtunately, William and I were on a budget, which is why we scheduled our visit to a weekday. We stayed in the Alper Hotel am Potsdamer Platz, a run down hotel right above a noisy night club – whereby the night club was not the problem, but the loud visitors infront of it –, which we cannot recommend, especially since there was a heat wave in Berlin and we had to try to sleep with opened windows. The show at the Bluemax Theatre on the other hand was a treat. It is a funny, very chaotic and unorthodox experience, which should not be missed when in Berlin.

The next morning, we were searching for a nice place to have a coffee and a small breakfast and found the Kranhauscafé right next to the river Spree. As we were already in the eastern part of Berlin, I showed the remains of the Spree Park to William. After a walk through the Plänterwald, whereby we surrounded the lost place theme park, we had a delightful lunch at the Klipper restaurant, which I can fully recommend.

Karls Erlebnis-Dorf Elstal in Elstal, Brandenburg nearby Berlin is one of the farm shop theme parks by the Dahl family simply knows as Karls. Besides the large farm shop and manufactures, you will find restaurants, large playgrounds and amusement rides.

Fun Fact: The park is the first one of the family to feature a full-size roller coaster.
