Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, California is one of the most important theme parks worldwide. The park began as a roadside berry stand run by Walter Knott along State Route 39. By the 1940s, a restaurant, several shops and other attractions had been built on the site to entertain the growing number of visitors, including a replica ghost town. Nowadays, the park is famous for its large number of rides and attractions.

Fun Fact: The park was home to the first modern roller coaster to go upside down.

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo, California is a large sea mammal amusement park operated by the Six Flags group. The roots of the park can be traced back to another location in Redwood, California where it operated as Marine World from 1972 to 1985. The location in Vallejo then opened in 1986 to the public. In 1999, the park was sold to Premier Parks and the name changed to Six Flags Marine World. Nowadays, the park is known as Six Flags Discovery Kingdom and featured a solid collection of rides and attractions.
