Cedar Point Shores sits right next to Cedar Point on the shore of Lake Erie. The water park originally opened in 1988 as Soak City and continued to grow over the years before taking on its current name in 2017.

The lineup includes tube slides, body slides, a mat racer, two river attractions, and a large wave pool. Some of the standout attractions are Point Plummet, Riptide Raceway, and Lake Erie Nor’Easter, along with plenty of areas aimed at families and younger guests.

What really sets Cedar Point Shores apart is the setting. Lake Erie is right next door, while Magnum XL-200 runs straight through the water park. It gives the place a backdrop that is hard to find anywhere else.

Noah’s Ark Waterpark is located in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, and is one of the best-known water parks in the United States. First opened in 1979, the park has continued to grow over the years and today covers a large area filled with water slides, wave pools, lazy rivers and other water attractions.

The variety of slides is particularly impressive. Alongside classic body and tube slides, there are family raft slides, mat racers and several more unusual attractions. Some of the best-known rides include the Black Anaconda water coaster, the Scorpion’s Tail looping slide and the large Raja King Cobra slide. There is even a classic spillwater ride with Flash Flood.

It is this mix of major attractions and wonderfully old-school water slides that makes Noah’s Ark particularly interesting. Not everything here feels modern, but the park makes up for that with an enormous selection and several slides that are becoming increasingly difficult to find elsewhere. This makes Noah’s Ark one of the water parks that is well worth visiting while in Wisconsin Dells.

Oceans of Fun in Kansas City, Missouri, is the water park located right next to Worlds of Fun. The park opened in 1982 and was one of the largest water parks in the world at the time. Today, admission to Oceans of Fun is included with Worlds of Fun, making it very easy to visit both parks on the same day.

Oceans of Fun offers a good selection of water slides, ranging from older classics to more modern additions. There is also the large Surf City Wave Pool, several family areas and Caribbean Cooler, the park’s lazy river. Especially during the hot Missouri summer, the water park is a great addition to a day at Worlds of Fun.

Oceans of Fun has been around for more than 40 years, and you can certainly tell in some areas. But that is also part of its charm. The mature trees and older attractions give the park a character that many newer water parks simply don’t have, while the surprisingly good selection of slides makes it easy to spend several hours here.
