Traumland auf der Bärenhöhle (1974-2023)
Address:Auf der Bärenhöhle
72820 Sonnenbühl
https://www.freizeitpark-traumland.de
Operated by:Freizeitpark Traumland GbR

Freizeitpark Traumland is a small fairy tale and amusement park above, and thus on, the Bärenhöhle near Sonnenbühl in the middle of the Swabian Alb near the capital of Baden-Württemberg, Stuttgart. It rounds off the offer around the Karls- and Bärenhöhle, which with 80.000 visitors per year is one of the most visited show caves in Germany.

In addition to the lovely fairytale pavilions right at the beginning of the circuit, the park offers a nice selection of family-friendly rides, so that a visit is really worthwhile, especially for families with small children.

Fun Fact: The Traumland auf der Bärenhöhle focuses on regionality like hardly any other amusement park. For example, sausages come from a nearby butcher one village further and not from the wholesale trade.

Knott’s Berry Farm

Theme Park:Knott's Berry Farm (since 1940)
Address:8039 Beach Blvd
90620 Buena Park
https://www.knotts.com
Operated by:Six Flags

Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, California, is one of America’s oldest and most distinctive theme parks. Its story began in the 1920s with Walter and Cordelia Knott’s roadside berry farm, which became increasingly popular for its berries and Cordelia’s famous chicken dinners. To entertain the growing crowds waiting for a table, Walter Knott began building Ghost Town in 1940 – laying the foundation for the theme park that would eventually grow around it.

Today, Knott’s Berry Farm combines its historic roots with an impressive collection of roller coasters, thrill rides and family attractions. Ghost Town remains at the heart of the park, while areas such as Fiesta Village and the Boardwalk add their own character. Major attractions include GhostRider, Xcelerator, HangTime and the classic Timber Mountain Log Ride, alongside numerous smaller rides and live entertainment.

Despite its location in the middle of Southern California, Knott’s has retained much of the character that grew out of the original family business. Ghost Town, the historic attractions and the connection to the Knott family remain just as much a part of the park as its modern roller coasters.

Fun Fact: The park was home to the first modern roller coaster to go upside down.

Disney California Adventure

Theme Park:Disney California Adventure (since 2001)
Part of the Resort
Disneyland Resort
Address:Disneyland Resort
92802 Anaheim
https://disneyland.disney.go.com
Operated by:Walt Disney Parks and Resorts

Disney California Adventure in Anaheim, California is the second theme park at the Disneyland Resort and opened in 2001. While neighboring Disneyland celebrates Disney’s classic characters and timeless stories, Disney California Adventure draws inspiration from California itself, along with Pixar and the Marvel Universe. Following a major transformation over the past decade, the park has become an essential part of the Disneyland Resort experience.

Among the park’s biggest highlights are Cars Land and Grizzly Peak. Cars Land faithfully recreates the town of Radiator Springs from the Pixar films, while Grizzly Peak captures the atmosphere of a national park with towering pine trees, waterfalls and its iconic mountain backdrop. Other major attractions include Radiator Springs Racers, Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!, Incredicoaster and a variety of family-friendly dark rides.

Although Disney California Adventure is smaller than neighboring Disneyland, there’s easily enough to keep visitors busy for a full day. Its mix of immersive themed lands, major attractions, live entertainment and seasonal events makes it an experience that perfectly complements a visit to Disneyland.
