There are a lot of places, where you can have an excellent view onto Hamburg. The best one in my opinion is the view from the Energiebunker in Wilhelmsburg, as you have all the major landmarks of Hamburg in sight without currently being on one of them. The Energiebunker is also home to the café Vju, which serves excellent coffee and snacks. Despite its reputation by the people who lives North of the river Elbe, there is also a lot of things to discover in Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg, which is always a good destination for a day trip, especially if you have a bike available.

Karls Erlebnis-Dorf Elstal in Elstal, Brandenburg nearby Berlin is one of the farm shop theme parks by the Dahl family simply knows as Karls. Besides the large farm shop and manufactures, you will find restaurants, large playgrounds and amusement rides.

Fun Fact: The park is the first one of the family to feature a full-size roller coaster.

My first visit to the city of Helsinki was an unintentional one as we missed our flight to Ivalo after we stood a good 40 minutes on the runway in Hamburg due to the current constructions going on at the Finnish airport. We were put into the nearby Holiday Inn for the night and decided to get our diner somewhere in the city instead of the hotel’s restaurant.

A few days later, I returned intentionally to Helsinki in order to get to know the city a bit better. I booked a guided tour with Red Umbrella Tours but was not overly impressed by the tour guide. I left the group early and headed directly to the Tivoli Linnanmäki shortly thereafter.
